My expertise is in the treatment of Anxiety, Loss and Grief, and Trauma. I also have extensive training and experience in Obsessive-Complusive Disorder, Perinatal Mental Health, and Sexual Assault.
The Mind-Body Experience
As an integrative mind-body therapist, my treatment methodology incorporates embodied healing modalities such as breathwork, guided meditation, and restorative yoga to enrich the psychotherapy experience.
These powerful, body-based therapeutic tools relax and balance a wired nervous system which radically alleviates the somatic symptoms of chronic stress that accompanies anxiety, depression, and emotional trauma.
Through empowering my clients to understand how to work with the physical body while providing the relational support of psychodynamic psychotherapy, they experience the profound benefits of therapy more rapidly and with deeper awareness.
By becoming an expert in the interconnectedness between the mind and body, endless opportunities open up for growth and transformation for the rest of one's life.
Who I Work With
I treat adults who are highly motivated for therapy because it requires commitment and can feel uncomfortable at times to examine the choices, attitudes, and patterns of behaviors that no longer serve them. The individuals I work with are willing to invest in themselves in this way because they recognize that their life is worth it. They want to evolve.
I see professional men and women, performers, college and graduate students, perinatal clients, and couples. I treat individuals regardless of their background, sexual orientation, or gender expression.
For those who have complicated schedules, travel frequently for work, or live outside of NYC, I offer remote therapy services. I especially enjoy working remotely with expats and English-speakers living internationally.
I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Master of Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Wisconsin. I have completed post-graduate studies in Advanced Clinical Practice (NYU), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (The Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at University of Pennsylvania), Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (The Postpartum Stress Center), Perinatal Grief & Loss (Selini Institute), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I have trained in a multitude of complementary therapeutic modalities including: 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Certification, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Pranayama Breathwork and Meditation Instructor Certification, Hypnotherapy, and Biofeedback.
In addition to private practice, my professional career encompasses a variety of settings including outpatient mental health clinics, Planned Parenthood of NYC, New York University's Counseling & Behavioral Health, and Pace University where I directed the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention & Education.
